Why do we love Dolce & Gabbana SS 2003 collection so much?

Why do we love Dolce & Gabbana SS 2003 collection so much?

Fashion lovers will instantly recognise this collection — Dolce & Gabbana SS 2003 ready-to-wear is just too iconic!

The show featured a stellar model line-up, with Eva Herzigova, Naomi Campbell, Amber Valetta, Stephanie Seymour, Gisele Bündchen, and Natalia Vodianova strutting the runway.

Models were clad in punk and S&M-inspired outfits, with criss-cross lacing, chunky metal hardware, lots of leather belts, black lace, and tight silhouettes. Many were wore a metal necklace, reading “S E X”, others — “L O V E”.

It was an amalgamation of a variety of influences and previous styles that Dolce & Gabbana presented in the previous years. For example, similar design features were seen in their earlier shows, such as criss-cross lacing, excessive belts, or black lace. The SS 2003 collection combines all these features, turning up the sex appeal to its peak.

This collection most certainly plays into the early 2000s’ erotic maximalism — this is why it’s probably one of the first that comes to mind, when thinking of this fashion decade to this day.
