Titled “Plato’s Atlantis”, the show muses on the fate of humans from the mythical island of Atlantis — and how they would evolve anatomically, when living underwater.

This was reflected in the silhouettes, textures, and patterns, which formed the looks. Printed fabric was adorned with reptile-like scales, crafted of futuristic embellishments or paillettes.

Some of the most iconic and memorable moments of the show were its accessories and footwear. Models wore monstrous heels with reptile print, resembling armadillos, or heavy pumps, inspired by aliens from Ridley Scotts “Alien”. Clutches, crafted of calfskin leather and python leather resembled stingrays, that could be carried by hand.

Despite its grotesque aspects, this show is difficult to look away from, thanks to its abundance of peculiar details and thoughtful design. The cohesion of all elements effortlessly mesmerises the viewer.

One of the iconic “De Manta” stingray clutches from this collection will be available via velvet-archive.com on July 30th, we ship worldwide
