From the early 2000’s.
⠀
John Galliano’s affection for deconstruction is clearly visible in his modification of classical suiting items. Runways of the early 2000’s show a plethora of spectacular suits, both for menswear and womenswear.
⠀
However, Galliano’s rebellion against classical suiting does not just stop at experimentation with cut. Combining patterns and textures is a common theme in his collections, most notably seen in his Fall 2004 show. Fabrics of various patterns and textures, including beads, sequins and coins are combined to create eclectic garments that often play on classical structures.
⠀
This vest is in great condition, with the exception of some missing red sequins on the front. The lining exhibits the Galliano newspaper print and has minimal piling.
